Attorney Profile

Indra Cantillo Mejuto, Esq.
When I arrived in the United States, I spoke very little English, had no close relatives, and no financial resources—only big dreams. My message to clients and to our community is simple: if I could do it, you can too. With faith, hard work, and focus, everything is possible.

Indra Cantillo Mejuto, Esq.

Indra Cantillo Mejuto is the founding attorney of Indra Law Firm, P.A., where she combines over a decade of international legal experience guiding and advising clients through complex business matters.

Indra began her career as a government legal advisor, focusing on international transactions, contracts, and trade relations. In that role, she facilitated collaborations with U.S. and international organizations—including Cargill, Marriott, WeWork, Engage Cuba, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, and the D.C. Department of Small and Local Business Development—on matters of investment, trade policy, and compliance. She also played a key role in reforming Cuba’s Foreign Investment Law in 2014 and was part of the team that oversaw major cross-border initiatives, including the $957 million Mariel Special Economic Development Zone joint venture between Cuba and Brazil.

As part of her journey as an attorney in the United States, Indra first worked with nonprofit organizations supporting immigrant communities, University of Miami patients seeking Social Security benefits, and families facing housing challenges. In this role, she dedicated herself to empowering hardworking immigrants to build wealth and shape their entrepreneurial ventures.

She later joined a prominent Florida litigation firm, where she handled commercial and business tort disputes involving breach of contract, negligence, fraud, and unjust enrichment. She managed cases from pre-suit investigation through discovery, motion practice, depositions, and settlement negotiations, while coordinating with experts and advising clients on litigation risks and strategy.

Today, Indra focuses on advising entrepreneurs and small businesses as they navigate the complex regulatory environment in the United States. She continues to represent clients in litigation—particularly in defamation and commercial tort matters—as well as in select immigration cases, where she helps individuals and families protect their rights and pursue new opportunities.

Indra holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Havana (2006), a dual LL.M. in U.S. & Transnational Law, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law (2023). She is admitted to practice law in Florida.
